Anhydrous calcium chloride, chemical formula CaCl2·2H20 white crystals or lumps.
The medical uses are as follows:
1. Calcium chloride can be used for tetany, intestinal colic and ureteral colic caused by lowered blood calcium.
2. It can be used for urticaria, exudative edema, and itchy skin diseases caused by low calcium.
3. Used to rescue magnesium salt poisoning.
4. For vitamin D deficiency rickets, rickets, pregnant women and lactating women, calcium supplementation.
Dosage and usage: Dilute 10-20ml of 5% calcium chloride solution with 25% dextrose solution and then slowly intravenously.
Precautions:
1. During intravenous injection, the whole body may feel feverish. The injection should be slow (not more than 2ml per minute). Because calcium salt excites the heart, too fast injection will cause the blood calcium concentration to suddenly increase, causing arrhythmia and even cardiac arrest.
2. Do not use this product during the application of cardiac glycosides or within 7 days after stopping the drug.
3. It has strong irritation, 5% solution cannot be injected directly intravenously, it should be diluted with an equal amount of glucose solution before injection. It is also not suitable for skin or intramuscular injection.
4. The injection should not leak outside the blood vessel, otherwise it will cause severe pain and tissue necrosis. If there is leakage outside the blood vessel, immediately apply strong and efficient calcium chloride desiccant
Use 0.5% procaine solution for partial sealing.
